In Exodus 12:14, God said, This is a day (Passover) you are to commemorate;for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord- a lasting ordinance. God commanded that the Passover is a festival that was to be celebrated as a lasting ordinance. Then, when the Israelites escaped Egypt by keeping the Passover, by God's promise, they were on their way to the land of Canaan. On their way to Canaan, they had to pass the Desert of Sinai. Since the Passover is a lasting ordinance and the Isralites had not reached the land that God promised them yet, should there be another account of the Passover? YES!
In Numbers (:1-3) it reads, " The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they came out of Egypt. He said, "Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time. Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with all its rules and regulations." Clearly, the Israelites followed God's command and celebrated the Passover on Janury 14th in the evening. Did they continue to keep God's command?
